We start with our classic Farm Dirt Compost™, which now includes our super-charged Farm Char Biochar™ - biochar that is enhanced with our own proprietary compost tea. That's just the beginning, though! Then we incorporate mushroom mycelium from saprophytic mushrooms like blue, pink, golden and pearl oyster mushrooms, lion's mane, reishi, shiitake, king trumpet and chestnut mushrooms. Saprophytic means that they grow on wood chips instead of horse manure, so NO MANURE is involved in the process. Also, this is a benefit because you may have noticed that you have more tree materials in your yard than horse manure (thank goodness), like leaves, sticks, bark and twigs, (not to mention mulch!). If you've heard about the beneficial health benefits of these species, just think of how much good their mycelium will be doing in your soil! Mycelium is the "root" structure of mushrooms, and forms relationships underground with the root systems of almost all plants. Mycelium is microscopic, so it can travel much farther in the soil, much faster, and in smaller crevices than plant roots. However, since they are intertwined with the plant roots, they share the bounty of nutrients, microbes and water that they produce and find, with your plants!Options
